Facebook Group for TWT Followers

I facilitate a group on Facebook called The Feral Network. This group is for those opting for a path less traveled, a life less mainstream, and those wishing or working towards a more intentional way of life. There is definitely a dash of rebellion within it as I believe it’s important to speak up and out about the change we wish to see in the world – generating healthy and respectful discussions that provide opportunities to share, grow, and learn together and from one another.

We are all on different legs of our journeys. What that looks like to us is individual and unique – but we can find solidarity in the process and start to build community as we go along, finding those who are walking a similar path, whether we’re just starting out or we’ve been trekking on for a while now.

Change takes time. It also requires work – both within and outside of ourselves. We can’t just pick up our lives and flip them on their heads at a drop of a dime. Some of us can. Many have no choice. But for most, it has to be a gradual thing. Shifting our patterns, our thought processes, our beliefs, our worldview, our perspectives, and eventually our way of life doesn’t not happen overnight – especially with years, sometimes decades, of social conditioning within every facet of our lives, basically from birth.

Through this community, I’m hoping to break the “all or nothing” mentality we’ve adopted. The one that makes us feel like we’re not good enough unless we’re an expert, that we can’t make a difference unless we do it through career moves and climbing corporate ladders, that we don’t belong unless we dedicate our entire lives to a particular identity, practice, or way of life, and that noteworthy change – for our lives, the world, and our planet – cannot be achieved unless it’s done on a major scale. I simply do not believe that is true. We all have the power to make a difference – in our lives, in our communities, and for the mother of us all – Earth.

Therefore, The Feral Network is rooted in principles of solidarity, reciprocity, and collective action – believing in the agency and capacity of everyday, ordinary people. We also believe that developing a strong and meaningful connection with nature has a profound impact on our health and the human experience.

I want us to share resources, knowledge, wisdom, and skills to support one other – fostering and encouraging communication, building networks amongst ourselves, and challenging these traditional, authoritative top-down approaches life, learning, and being.

What I hope we can share with one another:

  • Backyard Rewilding and Conservation Efforts
  • Gardening, Home Grown Food, and Homesteading
  • Voluntary Simplicity/Slow and Seasonal Living
  • Lessening Our Impact and Footprint on the Planet
  • Land Connection and Building Reciprocal Relationships with – Nature (can be spiritual, if that’s your thing)
  • Self-Sufficiency at Any Level
  • Nerding out over Nature – birds, bugs, trees, plants, animals, you name it!
  • Herbal and Holistic Remedies/Plant Medicine
  • Collaboration, Interdependence, and Personal Development
  • Primitive and Wilderness Living Skills
  • Habitat and Biodiversity Resilience & Restoration Efforts
  • Personal Development & Inner Landscape Work
  • Building Community through Collaboration, Reciprocity & Interdependence.
